Our Vision

Bonum Vitae… “Better Life!”
Enable people to live a better life with fewer cares, worries, and anxiety.

OUR MISSION

At Curae, we focus our attention, care, and zeal so our clients can focus on what is most important to them. We manage our clients’ personal business matters with integrity, professionalism, and discretion and support them through all stages of life.

OUR GOAL

Give our clients peace of mind and the freedom to focus on what’s most important to them.

How We Started

At Curae, we love what we do! We are here to help those who love doing it less than we do or are less able to.

Curae began out of my personal experience.  When my father, then 93, suffered a stroke and needed help managing his personal business matters, I was forced into action. I combined my years of experience in accounting and technology to assemble the tools and create the processes I needed to pay his bills, manage his finances and provide him with the information he needed- all from 400 miles away.

An unexpected benefit- I really enjoy the work and it is so rewarding to see him relieved from the worries and cares of getting bills paid. I heard from countless others who faced similar challenges. I formed Curae so that the same tools, processes and care that help my Dad can be used to help others live a bonum vita…. “better life”.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question about Curae and what we do? We are happy to answer them!

Here are some of the questions that are frequently asked:

ARE YOU LICENSED AND INSURED?

Yes! Our founder is a licensed CPA and we are bonded and insured (by Lloyds of London no less) for your protection.

HOW DO I KNOW IF YOU CAN HELP ME?

Call us! We’d be happy to discuss your situation and needs and we can determine together if we are a good fit. We take on a very limited number of select clients to ensure that we can maintain our personal service and level of quality. If we’re not a good “fit” for you, we’ll be open and honest about that.

CAN YOU DO MY TAXES AND FINANCIAL PLANNING WORK, TOO?

No. We don’t replace your accountant or financial planning professional. But we work closely with them to make sure they have the information they need and to make their work as efficient as possible.

DO YOU COME TO MY HOME TO PAY MY BILLS?

Sometimes. Though, we typically perform our activities from our offices without disturbing you in your home. We also serve clients outside the area, so in-person work is not practical. We operate “virtually” and are very good at serving your needs without having to physically travel to you. (Note: Because of the COVID19 pandemic, for everyone’s safety, we are performing all our work remotely until further notice.)

HOW MUCH DOES YOUR SERVICE COST?

We typically start off billing by the hour and tailor our work to the needs of each client and every client is different. So the cost varies. We find there tends to be more cost when we first start with a client to get them set-up and organized. Then the costs drop as things become more routine. For comparison, one survey shows auto mechanics average hourly rate is $70-$90/hour. We’re a bit more expensive than that, but we are generally less expensive than other alternatives (like CPA firms).

DO YOU REQUIRE LONG-TERM CONTRACTS OR CAN YOU HELP ME WITH A SHORT-TERM NEED?

Great question! We don’t have long-term contract requirements. And we can certainly assist with one-time “projects” and special needs. Contact us to discuss your needs and circumstances and we’ll see how we can help.
